erm, it's all working great, but when I click on it, I have to hold the click for the 'down' state to work. Is there any way for me to make it keep playing after I've stopped clicking?
Andreibranescu :
you can have gradient over the text without breaking down the text, so you can change the text anytime. just put the text on a layer and the gradient on another layer. than, just set the text layer to be the mask for the gradient. and you're done!

Well, all i can say is, shit, this is pretty hard. All i needed was Firecracker/After Effects/Photoshop CS4(64 bit), but i got the whole package, The Adobe CS4 Master Collection. So i really dont know what to do with this flash maker.Songkipark

thanks for the help TheWilliam0087! ok, I guess what I meant is linking the button for navigation to pages within my site. like I said, I know how to script buttons but not mc's. if you could give me sample script for that or something that would be awesome!

Great tutorial as always, but i was expecting for you to show how to create a roll out animation on a button as weel, ive looked on so many places on the web for that... until i eventually give up and learned how to do it myself...

Great tutorial ... sometimes it's a little too fast (I had to pause and/or rewind in some spots). But overall, really good. I think we'd all benefit from an updated CS4 tutorial addressing the differences in the filters panel (It's only available from the Scene view), and the Classic Tween vs. Motion Tween.

I made the button but there is a minor problem. When i click the button, I need to hold down the mouse button for the animation to play. I'm trying to make a button that when pressed, it shows a small animation and then go to another frame. How could i make it so it plays the animation before it goes to the other frame?

How come when you make the green rectangle behind the button it appears on top of the button for me? The only way I can make it appear beneath the button is if I make the rectangle a separate layer.
