nice, but seems useless because they share the same layers palette, it would be better if they where treated as separate files altogether.

Ok, so that little wave icon that makes the line, into a vertex, only exists on english keyboards. Is there any way to simply click some button in AI, and make it work?

double click the thing you want to edit it the whole screen will go gray except for it so you can focus on that single portion. then just do what you want to di with it, when your done double click on the art board (the gray area) and it will be back to normal aain with your newly made changes.

Man... I get lost when you mask the big white ellipse... in that moments, all the layers of my group dissapear. The desing stills there, but I can't clic in it, and althoug I'm seing it, there is no layers in the Layers Pannel wich say to me that they are here. Is like a flatten image, with no way to select the parts. And that happens in the moment in wich I mask the white ellipse. I'm so sad!!

i had the same problem. if the only layer that shows says (opacity mask) then you are in opacity mask mode, this is where i was. all you have to do to get out of there is go back to the transparency pallet for the oval and select the thumbnail to the left of the chain icon, you are now back in the original scene. it was when you double clicked the empty space to create the opacity mask that you changed everything, now you just change it back by switching to the original scene. i hope that helps.

Great tutorial, but couldn't you achieve the last bit with the black rectangle cutout and all that by simply applying an inner shadow to the inner icon? Regardless, great video. I did learn something I didn't know—that tilde trick. Thanks!
